Trunks850R
i gotta tell my story on my 85 245 wagon i had back in the day. so one day i notice that the tranny is riding the gears out a little too much , then jerking into the nxt gear. i mean it was doing it bad too. so i took it to clayton Volvo, they spend about 20 minutes with it, and tell me it needs to be rebuilt. im lookin at a little over 2 grand. then i take it to mr transmission, see if the "experts" can fix it for me.(remember im only 16 at the time) tehy rack it up and 3 guys stand under it for like 5 minutes, then tehy come back to me 15 minutes later with a 1600 dollar bill for a rebuild. okay we paid 1800 for the car, so now im afraid its time to let my car go. so im driving home and i notice a little sho called "S.G.B"(sweedish, german, british") i stop in there, tell the guy whats wrong, and he tells me to pop my hood. he then grabs the plastic adjuster near the throttle, turns it a few turns, then tells me to drive my car. guess what, it fixed it!!i mean 30 seconds worth of work, come on damnit! kenhoeve
I was at Irvine Volvo for the fuel tank heatshield recall. There was a couple there with a 96 850 turbo that was in for a fuel pump repair. They had just got the bill and it was $1,200. The guy was a little upset, so I talked to him for a second. Turns out they had dropped the fuel tank and so the labor was through the roof. I proceeded to tell him you don't need to drop the tank to replace the pump, I've done it myself, and that the repair should be in the $500-$600 range. As he started yelling for the service manager I gave him the volvospeed website address and got the hell out of there.
