Best Way To Replace The Head Unit With Minimal Changes To The System

Hey fellas. I think I may have wandered into this den once a long while ago but for all intents and purposes, I am a spankin' noob here.

Here's what I want to do. Replace the SC-811 head unit with a Parrot "Rhythm'N Blue" mp3, CD, bluetooth enabled head unit so that my cell will work from my pocket through my stereo and I can take and place calls, etc.

I am overall happy with the factory audio gear and want to maintain its performance.

Is there any way I can do this? Your suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

FYI hers some specs:

Model # Rhythm'n'Blue

Rhythm'n'Blue combines a full featured CD/MP3 car stereo deck with a built-in Advanced Car Kit. Rhythm'n'Blue utilizes Multifunctional LCD Displays for Caller ID, Phonebook access, Call Lists, other unique features listed below. Most of the time the driver can keep the phone in his/her pocket, on a belt or in a handbag and enjoy high quality stereo sound. Once the ignition key is turned, Rhythm'n'Blue detects mobile phone and establishes a wireless connection to it. From this point on, both incoming and outgoing calls are handled mostly without touching the phone, hands-free. The voice recognition replaces almost any need to touch the mobile phone.

I don't know much about the Bluetooth synchonization.. but I think this unit works just like any aftermarket deck (which is a super easy swap).

P.S. Dont get The schoche wire harness.. get the Metra one. (I tried to look up the part #, but I forgot what kind of car you have :monkey:)

Well I would suggest doing what I did if you're pretty satisfied with your factory system. I bought a Bluetooth kit that installs in the car, most companies maje them and they're universal. I have a Sony phone and a Motorola car kit. I also have the Blitz adapter for the CD changer input for MP3/satellite radio. The car kit works great as does the aux input. It doesn't have all the features of the head unit like call lists, but it does have voice dialing, mostly I just wanted to be able to answer the phone without missing calls trying to get it out of my pocket.

Thanks for the advice all.

Obviously the 45W x 4 in the new head unit is not close to the rating of the 100W SC-811. And I've found that these DIN head unit amps are overrated also.

If the unit sounds weak, can you recommend a good value 4 channel amp that I can throw in with this head unit to keep the power level up and is well matched to the speaker impedances?
