Radiator Fuild Hose Leak Test!?!?!

Hey guys i notice that my radiator fuild has been leaking. I fill it up and it last for about a week then i have to refill it again. I think its leaking from that one hose right underneath the Raidator Fuild Resivour. I removed the hose and i wanna see if i can check it for any leaks. Is there a way i can do this?? Im pretty certain its this hose but not a 100 percent sure.

Thanks,

Orlando

OK, first, you say, "radiator fluid" I rekon you mean coolant, right? These cars have coolant, tranny fluid and motor oil running through tha radiators.

Are you seeing the coolant under the coolant reservoir? If the hose is in doubt, just replace it! It'll cost you about $7 + a new hose clamp...why mess around?

I have the same car as you.

I would actually lift up the entire reservoir and check the bottom hose/clamp area where it attaches to the reservoir. I had a coolant leak for months and couldnt figure it out, but I realized it was actually a crack in the actual reservoir at the bottom where the hose attaches, and it was getting worse, to the point where if I fill it, it would just spill right out.

Whats crazy is that both the bottom and the top hose were cracked.

You should immediately be able to tell if its the reservoir because when you lift it up, you should see a whole mess of coolant everywhere, especially on the hose itself.

the reservoir new is $85 from the stealership, fairly easy install.

If you believe that you have a leak in the system, pressure test it and see where there are leaks. The system may not always be leaking from where you think it is.

And as James said, the cheapest place to get the reservoir is on the internet. Screw paying $85 for a $35 part.

Yea thats what im trying to do but how do i do a pressure test??? Also i looked at it yesturday. And i moved the hose that is located beneath the resivour and coolant squirted right out. So im thinking if it comes out when i move it maybe it comes out while drving, since there is vibration like when hitting a bump or something.

Thanks,

Check the top of the reservoir to see if its warped also. Its common with the age of your car. Then just buy reservoir, cap and the 2 hoses coming out of it. Then your done. And the fluid sensor just pops right out. Pops right in. No tool needed.
