Über855R
I have been thinking about doing a custom guage cluster. I am wondering what is involved to rewire speedo, tach, water temp, and gas guages to aftermarket guages. Is that legal? Will it affect the obdII or smog check readings? Are there any problems with changing the guages and still having everything work? If anybody can hold my hand to get started or give me a link to a write up that would be awesome!! connorb850
Ever thought about going to a 70 series cluster?http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=11376&hl=
Über855R
I am thinking about doing some aftermarket guages. Not s70, the autometer nexus guages are what I have been looking at. They look cool and they change colors with a brain. If ANYBODY has some suggestions on getting this done or precautions about the laws for removing odometer and check engine lights I am hoping to get some input. Che'_Moderator
How much do you have to spend is the best question? It can be done, but its going to cost. As for being legal, I have no idea in CA. You would need to retain your odometer and all the idiot lights I know what. As for the rest, I "think" as long as you have them its ok. Would be something to research.

But the whole set would look awesome together in the car all the way up the A pillar and all the factory guages gone and replaced by matching speedo tach etc with color changing back lighting. But I guess the idiot lights and speedo are the major problems. Will I run into any computer problems, will the car still operate with the stock guages completely removed? Speedo is easy to handle as is fuel gauge. Your just looking at lots of new sensors unless you can find a gauge set that can manage the data stream off OBDII. Über855R
Come on man, please share anything you can? I don't really want to buy 2000+ in guages and then find out I can't reasonably install them. Knowing myself I will just buy them anyway then figure it out eventually if they will work or not. Are you going through the same process? What kind of guages are you using?Sensors?Water TempTachSpeedoFuelodometerAm I missing anything?

HoustonT5-R
Has anyone tackled the task of swapping some guages from a P2 R into an 850/70 series? I absolutely love those blue gauges.

I absolutely love those blue gauges.Believe it or not they work with standalone EMS. So its as simple as going standalone . Sure there is an easier way though.
