pimpinavolvo
that's what some guy at audio express told me for my s70 glt with the premium sound. he's full of crap, i believe. i took mine to ultimate electronics (free install too) and they took great care of me. they even let me watch them do it as they wired everything. Guest Guest
No, they are not full of Crap. There are several other posts in this forum relating to HU install and speakers. They just don't have the expertise to know how to install everything. And if your Stereo works afer visiting Ultimate Electronics, I am surprised. More like Ultimate at F-Ing up Electronics

Bing_0
i concur with the statement that extra time and cash is needed to wire up a premium system is NOT crap. on the premium system, the stock headunit sends rather low level signal to the stock amp whcih amplifies the speakres, if you just wire in a new headunit straight at the headunit, what you will be doing is sending a high level signal to the stock amp, which will most likely cuase distortion, and int he long run, burn out your speakres or amp. a lot of effort is need to fish the wires down tot he stock amp from the aftermkaret headunit, and splice them after the stock amp directly into the speaker wires....not sure if its 120 bucks but, definetly should be more money than just installing a normal headunit in a non stock-amplified system. i would go back to ultimate electronics and ask them if they indeed performed this wiring.b
