I had a race with a BOXSTER once,I was thinking that is strong car,stronger than my VOLVO,but it isn't.I was moving on main road with 3 lines,I had him behind while I was on the left line,then I went 1 line to the right because I was very tired fom my job,he came near me but he wasn't passing me,it was like he was waiting for me to accelerate,but my mind was travelling,then he came next to me,there were to young men in,they watched me and laughed,so it was the green light in my head,I got behind him and floored the gas pedal,I was behind until middle 4th gear and then I made him to go right and passed him with over 190km/h.

I don't know if it is hard to believe but it is true.I wouldn't lie to a Volvo forum.

Motor Trend Magazine ran one at 14.5 @ 94.6 mph. Theres no way your even close to that, but I can maybe see it happening if the car is in bad shape and he was a really really bad driver, thats if he was even going WOT.

Sorry I know this is not racing, but since he brought up the Boxster, it reminded me of this day.

I was heading to the annual IPD garage sale south on I-5 and saw this boxster ahead that was zig-zagging lanes due to slow lane violators. I got heavy into the accellerator and came right up on him in no time. That aparently freaked him out, cause he let the gas off and I got right up beside him. He had this really worried look so I have him the the Volvo "V" sign, smiled and pulled away. He must of thought I was state patrol, white sedan and all. I was in an white S70 GLT at the time. I think he soiled his pants or something. He must of been oblivious to anything behind him. I got the feeling too that it may not have been his ride.

VS needs to adopt the strings of smilie faces that Tbricks has. Like the little guy raising the BS flag. I'm not denying that what you said is true, just he wasnt trying or decided to back off. perhaps he was jsut cruising and youwe re driving like crazy to keep uo :)

I don't think that he was cruising,I don't know if you race your car,in order to see what it can do,but my car has very good performance,I believe to my car's power,and once in the past I had given my car for a ride to a"friend"who has a boxster,and he didn't want to leave my car.

They are not that fast... the night i drove to Alsfeld there was a 911 cabrio. He took me about 10m from 200-260 km/h. Boxster S is equal to mine. He is faster from zero but at higher speeds you can keep up with them and a normal boxie you should eat.

P.S. i love Porsches ! If i have enough money one day i'll drive a 911 turbo. The sportscar for me

yea he seemed like he was pushing it though. his car was jerking they where hard shifts and he was reving.

On the way to senior pictures i came across a Porsche Boxster. The Porsche Boxster was sitting behind me at a red light im pretty sure he could here the radiohead coming from my car. The light turned green and i floor it going onto a pretty busy road. He stays back and the approaching light turns red.

I move over to a empty lane so we might get a race out of this. He pulls up next to me and doesnt even look at me. After my glance at him the light turns green. I go half throttle for about 1 sec and he floors it and i do the same. I am in first gear and shift into third with the automatic gearbox. His car pulls even with mine at this time after the gears connect i take off. At the proceeding light i turn off the a/c and put up the windows. WE race again and the guy was about 1/2 car lengths back on me.

It seemed like he was shifting rather hard, just incase you thought he wasnt racing me. The driver of the Porsche Boxster didnt even acknowldge me after we raced. He was thinking i spent 50000 dollars on this car and just got beat bye a punk in a Volvo.

Could it be that the reason why he was shifting so hard is that he does not know how to drive a manual ?? When I had my 300ZXTT I remember at a light a white civic started reving at me and when the light turned green took off. Mind you I was not racing just driving normally and shifting at about 3500 rpm, the civic and I were neck and neck till we get to the next light. I give him a thumps up and he smiles. I go home later that night and search some of the honda forums and I find that the driver of the Civic had posted that he spanked a 300ZXTT. I then posted on that thread that I was the driver of the 300ZXTT and that yes he indeed spanked me as I was only short shifting my car at 3500 rpm and not taking it to the full 7500 rpm. I believe that if a car(BOXSTER) is faster and stronger than another(VOLVO) you can see the difference on the road,but by the things that you are all saying it seems that VOLVOs have very poor performance.Because at least me,I explained that I passed him but not so easy.I don't know,it's your opinion,but PORSCHE is not the God.

Well if the boxster will do a 14.5 1/4 mi. and it is definitaly quicker than the volvo off the line. Since plenty of people have put down a 14.5 1/4 in their volvos it seems possible to beat the non turbo porsche. So at a rolling start to Slowvo should easily out accelerate the non-turbo porsche. Now if you start talking about a real porsche we don't stand much of a chance.

nice kill, i dont know why people think that "porsche" is a fast car, well yes but not all porsches, my dad has some of them and i can say non turbo/supercharger are slow than volvo. And also i saw your signature, so you have some mods right?

You are talking for 14.5 at 400m,we were moving when we started to accelerate.If you understand what I mean,it's useless to speak for the first 400m.If it is turbo or not it's still a sportcar and Volvo is only a fast sedan.
