trance42
I went to advance to order a blaster coil and started talking to a guy behind the counter about ethanol. He told me that he has seen a few cases of people running high boost and using 93 with 10% ethanol that resulted in holes burnt in there pistons.Does anyone have any input on this? Im running a garett turbo at low boost but once i decide to crank up the boost should i be worried?Tim
PorBleemo
I think that most gas has at least 10% ethanol in it now that hasn't appeared to cause problems.

ViperVette
I've seen is saying 10% Ethanol at the Pump... some of them specify that just the 93 octane only has the 10%.
SkyWriter
alcohol is ethanolyes, that is why it's quoted. literally.
zazzn
it's because the octane is high enough not to detonate with the fuel on high egts high enough for temps to melt pistons.
