nalek
I was just driving yesterday, went over some railroad tracks (not hard or fast, but bumpy) And now when i put the radio to CD the changer displays E-01 on the HU. I took the changer out, found a CD jammed in there, and i got it out just fine. When the changer was unplugged the HU would display EEEEEE. So what does the E-01 mean, it wont let me do anything in CD mode. I checked to see if there was power getting to the changer, and there is, Both wires (black and green/red) had power. However, It wont eject the magazine at all, like its not getting power or something, The eject button isnt lighting up at all. it seems like it needs to be reset or something. Ive unhooked the battery and everything, but it just does nothing, alone or on the radio.Any suggestions? Please! Thanks
Deltablade
A very similar thing happened to me last year. When you originally found a cd jammed in it did you actually open the casing of the changer and get it out? When this happened to me I believe I had somehow managed to end up with 7 discs inside the 6 disc changer and it tried to put 2 in 1 slot. So what I would recommend is that you take the changer completely outside of the car and open it up carefully. As I remember, the plastic front part just snaps off and some screws hold the metal casing. After that, inspect the interworkings of the changer and you should find some kind of manual release for the magazine. I can't remember where it is exactly. Then see if there is anything crazy goin on inside the area where the player reads the discs. You may also want to check the inline fuse connected to the red imput cable. Chances are its not that, but it could be.
Guest Guest
Yea, I opened the changer up to get the cd out. The fuse was fine, i did check it.Sounds like the same thing happened, You got the E-01 on your stereo too? After you got the jammed cd out, did it just go back to working fine without you doing anything? Also, can someone tell me what the 2 power lines coming out are? The black and the green/redAny more help is appreciated. thanks!
Deltablade
I think it started working fine after that. As for the wiring, I'm pretty sure the green is the hot and the black is the ground.
Guest Guest
I installed an aftermarket changer on my old 940, I remember one wire was ACC and one was +. Are you sure there is a ground there?
nalek
That was me again. Thanks for the help. I opened it back up again, and manually moved the tray so it would be at the bottom (playing position) and i guess thats what it needed, I supplied power to it after it was all the way down, and it works fine now! Thanks again!
