s70twinz
When I purchased the car last year the guy simply told me the air conditioning did not work. However, I was not concerned considering I got such a good deal on the car. But, the hot weather has now arrived and I need to figure out the problem. I want to say the guy had it recharged and it wouldn't hold, but I'm not sure. What can I do to try and figure out what it is? Thanks, Matt
Guest AlvinL
Read the pinned post on searching A/C issues and read over a few. Check out Bay13's A/C information. At least that will give you some understanding of Volvo's A/C and the issues some are having. Open the cap and push in the valve for a quick 'pffft' test to see if there's any pressure in there at all. If there's none, don't bother trying to refill. Once air gets in, the system needs to be fixed and evauated. In other words, get it professionally repaired. If there seems to be some pressure left, it may be too low that a refill could be attempted. You'll need to jumper the low pressure switch to get the compresser running while you empty a 12 oz can. MadeInJapan
If really low, you will need almost 2 full cans, so go ahead and buy 2. Put the cans in hot water as you empty them into your system to make the job go faster.
