Swedish Mike
As I saw the cylinders were OK.But if you hone the cylinders it will last for many km?I love my car but I am really dissapointed from it concerning the oil consumption.I was thinking to do other modifications when I took it(S60R rims, change the leather seats with new, turbo etc.....)but now I have to open the engine's internals again.and the other strange is that it has very, very good performance.Maybe you use a 0w40 oil? To hot for that now./Mike

To hot for that now./MikeI've run about 70000km since I changed the rings,to tell you the truth I changed everything, except the pistons which were in good condition,I used shell 15w-50,no difference, then I used shell 5w-40 the same, then motul 300v 15w-50 the same again and now I use from Volvo 10w-40 semi-synthetic and the same result again!I believe that I sould throw the engine. But I threw my money to refresh it. PenguinScotty
The 500 bucks one runs/was running before it got removed from the car.I was planning on using Venolia Pistons and SPM Rods. If the crank is alright, i would definitely keep it in there, mainly because i'm not planning on going past 450 hp for a while. If the head is alright, i might just clean it up and slap it back on there, however, if there is a problem with the seal or valves, i might just go all out, get it milled, bored and replace valves and springs and other misc parts. Also, depending on the condition of the block i might get it honed. Thanks for the input guys, appreciate it alot. Seems like i'm going to go with the 500 dollar one and just turn it into a like-new condition :P

PenguinScotty
Roger that. Going to go all out on the block then. Better safe than sorry. Just curious because i'm not 100% sure, but the stock crank should (theoretically) be able to hold 450hp right? Thanks again

You can find it in the newer T5´s.I would probably use the 850 one to keep the cost down./Mike
