flyfishing3
installed ipd's ipod adapter tonight.took two hours. first step is removing the screws that hold down the center console.next remove the pen holder.there are two screws holding the climate controls, remove those.the CC unit will pull out from the bottom.next remove the two screws the hold the head unit in.pull down and away. release the anteana clips, green control clip, then the din and melbus.tap into the large red cable coming out of the green stereo clip with included splicer and insert the yellow wire from the new melbus/can. next run the ipod adaptor wire to the cd case holder area. i did not like this and ran the usa spec controler into the glove box. next i ran the ipod adapter wire into the cd holder cubby. i connected my ipod and the face of the the ipod read "volvo" so i knew i was cool.IMO the ipd kit's wires are to short. i could barely lift the ipod out of the cd holder area.(six inches max). i then took it all apart again and moved the wire to between the pass side center console vent and the pass seat area. not ghetto but not ideal. i'll eventually get and extender cable and then run it all the the cubby area.reinstalled the head unit, climate controls etc. ipd gives you a dvd and i brought my lap top into my car and this worked flawlessly. step by step and no problems at all.wasn't able to get it cranking to much.(wife/kids asleep) but it did sound awesome. the r's stereo kicks much tail. 149usd for the kit from ipd. highly recommend this and the instal was no big dealanybody have questions fire away or pm me.mike
