Marciano
After reading more and more here on the PCV I got to thinking I didn't really service the whole system like I should have. The dealer just sold me a flame trap, O ring, and the plastic L shaped thing the flame trap goes into. My Chilton manual is just not any help on this at all. I borrowed a Haynes that goes to 1997 and I think it is the same as my 98 V70 non-turbo. Now I guess I have to wait another 4-5 days for whatever parts I need to do this-CRAP! I want to do it right now! I need new gaskets to put manifold back on right? I have searched this topic but just want to be sure exactly what parts I need to do it. RussB I ain't messin with you at all, you were right and I told you I was a rookie! What can I go ahead and do without the freakin parts I don't have right now? I guess I could go ahead and flush the coolant system. Thanks!

Well, of course it fits right in and when you turn it just freakin turns because the inside is rounded off! Why is this plastic? Because metal doesn't hold up as well to the coolant? How in the heck do I get this stupid thing off? Whoever put it in last time really screwed it up because the outside is rounded off also! Do I just do whatever to get it off and destroy it and buy another one from the dealer? I do like this Volvo but it sure is a freakin headache it seems no matter what you are doing to it! Mesoam
if you look up more you will see a spot for a socket...10mm or something close to that, if not, vice grips and then a new drain plug
pfeener
Just an FYI: When you tighten the plug, just snug it up, don't put any pressure on it at all or it will break off and then it's a real PITA.
