96PlatinumEdition850
I'm buying Scotts 3'' side outlet exhaust. I currently have stock downpipe and cat. If I installed the exhaust on the stock cat then later when I decide to do a downpipe and testpipe or downpipe and hi-flow cat I will have to hack off the cat from the exhaust. Do you guys think it would be better to put a VMS hi-flow cat or Magnaflow cat on when I install the exhaust just so I won't have to hack any of the exhaust when I do my downpipe or should I wait and do it all together or what? Do you see any problems with installing a hi-flow cat and the 3'' exhaust with the stock downpipe? Thanks-Jeff
loudvolvo
if you just want a nice exhasut note then put the car on a lift and cut out about a 1 foot piece of your exhaust after the cat and it will sound pretty nice. not tremendously loud but its got a nice rumble
96PlatinumEdition850
I'm not looking to just chop my exhaust off and call it a day. I'd like it to be a nice exhaust with a good flow. I want to get a 3 inch down pipe I just don't have the cash at this exact moment so I was looking for a way to get the exhaust installed with maybe a hi-flow cat and then get the downpipe put on later so that it won't be a hack job. Overboost850
Jeff, just get the shop to weld a simple two or three bolt exhaust pipe flange on before your cat and on your stock downpipe(with a step tube). Then when you get the downpipe you can either use the flange on your exhaust from before or cut it off and weld pipe to pipe. Should cost you 20 extra bucks! Good luck :)
