matt1122 Posted July 8, 2006 Report Share Posted July 8, 2006 The T6 engine was the best volvo engine ever, it was only used in the wrong vehicles(S80 and XC90).The engine may not have been so bad, but I'm convinced it's hexed, cause the T6 equiped S80s and XC90s have more problems than anything else.The 4 speed auto and other things must have screwed it over.But you're right, the T6 is an awesome engine when it's by itself. But I hear it takes over 100k in mods to make them even half was decent. As much as I hate Suvs the v8 would be nice.With that being said and agreed upon, I think that Volvo will be a excellent quality car company in 5-7 years. Comparable to the likes of Audi/BMW now? Helllllll no. Flame me if you want, but from the looks of things Volvo had something going on early through almost late 90's and then slacked off and is getting left in the dust current day by companies it "competes" with. Ivanfbi Posted July 9, 2006 Report Share Posted July 9, 2006 I heard so many times that 5cyl XC90 is much better than T6 even though it has less power and V8 is about as thirsty as T6, so T6 is the worst package. plus is just as reliable as bush.S60, I love them, love the style, have driven a few, never an R, but avoid regular AWD, don't need that in city, avoid 2.4T and 2.5T i expected more power...T5 i drove one but it was auto and i liked it. get a XC70 and get your kids into soccer club as soon as you can!
