gr8gatzby
went mudbogging again and for the first time i removed the plastic protector that covers the front quarter the engine's underbelly, when spraying out the mud. i found a disconnected plug and i cannot seem to find a home for it. additionally, there is a canister which appears to be part of the A/C system, and as you can see it is starting to rust. what's the prognosis doc?thanks. Rabbit
it can't reach all the way over there....My 2000 XC's both have the sensor on the drivers side. I had no idea there were two temperaure sensors! Perhaps it isn't a temperaure sensor! Do you see the temperature sensor on the drivers side?EDIT: It does look like a temperature sensor, so there must be two sensors on these models. I just looked at my 2000 XC SE on the passenger side, and I couldn't see anything like that sensor from the top side.EDIT: Underlord is correct! When you removed the splash shield, you must have dislodged the sensor from the splash shield (or it wasn't plugged in before you removed the shield). There is a hole in the splash shield where the sensor plugs into.

MarcS
:D That explains why my external sensor was reading high!! Mine was unplugged too and just riding on the surface of the splash guard back away from the airflow. Great pictures guys!
