TheMan5952
Do you have a factory Head unit?here's a write up for the 850 but same concept.http://www.volvospeed.com/obd2/subinstall1.htm
tedt-5
I just had a sub wired in my 98 s70 with OUT replacing the deck. I got this part that wires to your front speakers and gives you RCA outputs. I ran a simple MTX thunder to a kicker 12 and it sounds great! http://peripheralelectronics.com/web/loc.asp Look for the "P50"
the underlørd
all the wiring is custom, it's not like there's a kit for your car..run wires from battery to fuseblock, to amp, ground amps, remote turn on lead, amps to speakers, yadda yadda. bapx17
I have the orig head unit, the thing is when i did the wireing for my V.W, all i did was take the two wires form the unit *cd player* to my amp, and forum my amp one to grd and one to batt, but in a volvo. I have it in my car like this so u know wut im doing, i have the amp, and two lines comeing out of it one is RED and one is BLACK, the 12v (red) is not put in since i dont have my subs in, i dont know if i need to wire my amp to my head unit, or jus to the fuze box, and and how to i wire it to the fuze box, i have been to the site with the red volvo, its how i got here :) but i want and tryed to do this and kinda got lost, all i reallly need is wire dragm or a pic and something like that and i can do it, I jus want to make sure i need to wire, and do so i dont mess up my car, and yeah. one more ? if u dont mine, my amp im my old car, with it was on it had a green light, when it had 12vs to it, now when i put the 12vs on it does not have a green light, did i blow it somehow? TheMan5952
The amp won' turn on until you have the remote/12V signal wire connected to it. It's just a small wire to tell the amp to turn on. The factory amp should be under the drivers seat, if you slide it all the way forward you should be able to see it. Here is the VADIS Instrucitons on how to remove it.Move the seat to the front upper position.Remove the air duct.Fold the floor carpet to one side at the front mounting.Remove the screw from the front mounting.Fold out the floor carpet at the rear mounting.Remove the screw from the rear mounting.Pull out the amplifier slightly.Disconnect the three connectors.Install:In reverse order.Hint: Wedge the screw in the sleeve using a little paper to insert the screw properly. Otherwise there is a risk of losing it.and the round plug on it comes from the Head unit. The center wire in there is the remote power turn on, you might be able to tap into that to get a amp signal.D6#47Control signal (off / on) amplifierIf this seems like to much work take it to a shop, I probaly would because newer radios are a pain in the ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD half the time. TheMan5952
the factory amo is foor the door speakers.Your amp won't run on with out a remote turn on lead. just for short term test run a small wire from the POstive cable from the battery to the rem plug on your amp and see if it turns on then. TheMan5952
and that 12v was a skinny little plug right, the smallest one on the amp probaly? If it's not turning on in your car take it to a shop to get bench checked. They will let you know if it's shot or not.

Owned
i ran a wire for the batt to the "12v" on my amp and the green light still does not turn on, i have looked at the fuzes and there still good, maybe i fried it lolDid you ground it or only hook up 12v? If you didn't ground it, do so and try again. If it still doesn't work, make sure the line has power in it.
