Iron Monkey
Hello all. I just finished installing the latest mods on my '95 Volvo 850 Turbo and I'm a little worried because I took the car out for a drive a few moments ago I found that under hard acceleration I would hear this "whishhhhh" sound comming from the front of the car and there is the smell of smoke. It smells somewhat like some sort of synthetic hydrocarbon polymer is burning! Please help, this has me quite concerned.- Iron Monkey

Seamus
Check the cooling fan. They can catch fire. I put the 2000 V70 fuse link on mine so it will not burn up the entire car...

I double checked and tripple checked everything.you turbo burning due to lack of oil??Oil's fine.Check the cooling fan. They can catch fire. The cooling fan's fine from what I can tell.I did notice that the harder I push it the more it smells like fire, and when I am turning while I step on it the smell is especially strong.
