Matts 850 GLT
OKAfter a long run with the a/c on I hear a 'sshhh' sound coming from the center vents after I switch off.A/c is very cold so is the sound 'normal'? Car is 95 2.5 10v, I don't remember it happenning in my 93 GLT.Matt
Guest AlvinL
If it's too cold, that may be a bad sign. Open the hood and check if the compressor is cycling every once in a while and there's no ice build up around the pipes. What could happen is the condensation on the evaporator would eventually freeze up and blocking the air flow instead of draining out. Can't say for sure about the 'sshh' sound. I've heard it before. Maybe it's normal as the sound of the gas flowing through the pipes. Maybe I seem to notice it more when it's a little low.
mbsl98
I think that is normal. I get it on each of teh cars, at least some of the time. I can often hear the same sort of sound from outside the car, after shutting it down with AC running (at least if it is in the garage where sound is more isolated).
