Owned
I installed the Maxxbass today and I have to say it works very well with subs but I can't seem to get it to play nicely with my doors. I believe it's something to do with my crossover settings for the front doors. The results with the subs seemed to be that they were louder than 8 dB of gain at the HU with +6 non-fader, at -3 dB gain and +0 non-fader, at the same base volume. I didn't want to test the system maxed out so I left it at that and swapped it over to my 4 channel lead on the front side.If all I had was a little 10 or 12 this would probably be perfect. The bass with the MB103 and the two 15s is just too overpowering for my musical tastes. I didn't take as many pictures as with my other installs because it's pretty much just plugging different things in.Mission control:I pulled the rheostat out of the bass knob because it was rediculously large:We ended up installing it in the trim piece under the E-brake handle. It was tough trying to fit it in there because it's so stupid long, but we made it work. It lights up blue and actually matches the HK iPod piece that it sits near pretty well.Finished:There's so much stuff under the seat now that I think I'm going to install some little fans to keep things cool. Maybe even a small diamond plate kick pannel to protect them a little bit.
Greenchunks
Might this work with a Stock S70 system for the 8" woofers? Also, I'm a little confused as to how it works? Does it affect the individual speakers, or does it intercept the signal coming from all speakers? A little more info would be awesome. Also, how much was it? I'm thinking maybe this with a factory or other 4 channel amp on the stock system might sound really good.

If you want more information on the specific methods used, follow the links from above. They retail out for $299 IIRC.That would be one area where this could be used, however, the in/out of this unit is RCA so you're looking at just changing to RCA inline just before and after this. This would need to be upstream of the amp.

So a few more questions, the bass you hear is psycho acoustic based that is playing a frequencies which we percieve as deep bass but is not entirely the same. Will I still feel the bass like with real subs and will it cause the car to rattle like real subs. Also form what I've gathered is that I would need one of these for each set of speakers that I want it to work on? So one for the rear 8" woofers, and one for the front 6.5" woofers (not needed on the rear door 6.5" woofers)
Jesus
Wish I could audition these in person. Gotta say that I'm still a bit skeptical. My single 12" sure could use a boost.

My single 12" sure could use a boost. You could always order one direct from Waves and return it if you don't like it. Or, they may have a dealer local to you who has a demo you can play with. I think there's a dealer list on the Waves site.OK, looked around some more, and found some slightly better things. So one for the rear 8" woofers, and one for the front 6.5" woofers (not needed on the rear door 6.5" woofers)As this is a pre-amp device it's going to be upstream of whatever amp(s) you're using, this (specifically, number of inputs at any given point in the signal run) combined with the amount of control you want, dictates the number of processors required. Modification of a wave's freq through this processor does not have such a drastic effect on the amount of air being compressed that it will stop your subs from causing vibrations in the vehicle. Will it cause a smaller driver to produce enough air movement to cause rattling? This, as I said, I haven't been able to experience. It seems to me that you're trying to build some kind of bass machine using your factory speaks. Personally, I wouldn't hook up any kind of bass boost device, aside from a good EQ, to all of the factory speaks and expect good quality sound (at high levels of boost, at least). If you did just the 8's and left the others alone, that would likely be the better solution.

My original plan was to mount 8" woofers in the rear deck in place of the current 8" ones but that seems to be easier said than done. I'm just wondering if this might add enough depth to my stock system so that I wont need to go much further.
Owned
If that's the case, you wouldn't want to try to use a bass boost device on your front speaks. There's better methods of getting what you're after.I don't see why you shouldn't be able to put some small 8s in the rear deck. I've never done it or seen it done, but I doubt it's all that hard of a task if given a little effort. Most things are like that, though.
