C70 Alpine Amp Install

Took about 3 hours on sunday, it was very straight forward. Used a DIN adapter made for me by crazykin to connect the OE cable to the amp this gave me the 6 RCA's and remote turn on lead. I used the stock power, ground and speaker leads. Had to use a cut-off wheel in my Dremel tool to cut off the top of the bracket that mounts the amp in the car, this allows you to pull out the side plastic storage pocket and make adjustments without pulling the whole side panel out. You will also have a bracket just above the rear wheel well that will have to be trimmed a little. The best way to fit everything is to first pull the old amp and bracket, position the Alpine with the adjusment pots at the top then drill new holes for mounting amp to bracket. Once you try to reinstall you will see the pc. of sheet metal that has to be trimmed. Once I cut the top off of my bracket and installed it using just the 4 bolts (2 on ea. side) it is very secure. I have he color code written down for the speaker leads if you need it.

Now I feel like the Alpine HU w/XM install using the other DIN adapter from Slater was well worth the time and effort. It is amazing the HUGE difference it has made going from the Alpine HU with the stock amp and no sub to having the Alpine HU, Alpine MRV357 5 Ch. amp and Alpine 10" sub. The OE Dynaudio speakers have turned out to be alot better than I thought they would be.

Sooo, this installation was done in a 97 965? From reading this, I get the sense that you installed this in the back somewhere. I'd like to pick your brains a bit about this, as I have the same amp that I'd like to put in my V70, but I'm at a loss to figure location and wiring. I was thinking about mounting under one of the floor panels in the rear, but as I also have a full-size (Titan) spare, it may be a little tight.

I'd love to see some pictures of this install also.

Cheers!
