Anthrpicdecadnce
Sigh.. I just put the S70 T5 in the shop today. He was misfiring something pretty aweful and his catalytic converter smelled like straight up sulphur/scrambled eggs... I miss my swedemobile... :(

Anthrpicdecadnce
I already changed out the plugs for NGK's. that didn't really fix anything. i know my cats gone. luckily though, these repairs will be free because i'm still under warrenty. but something tells me the service is going to be half assed. MadeInJapan
I'd be willing to bet the mechanic comes back with "none of the above," and it's a MAF sensor. Exactly same symptoms as when mine went.
Anthrpicdecadnce
you know... i've been thinking that too, because it doesnt really misfire too much until 4k, then it gets gross. i remember when the maf went on my '87 300ZX, the rpm's refused to go over 2k. Anthrpicdecadnce
well the person at the garage definately started to bullshizz me and told me that i "broke the plugs" when i installed the NGK's. you know.. as if installing new spark plugs is a delicate task. so now i gotta pay for that. i hope he gets cancer. MadeInJapan
Why do you put up with it and just "take it," if you know he's BSing you, and then wish cancer on him?I would have it towed somewhere else and get someone else to look at it.
Anthrpicdecadnce
well, i'm still paying 50 bucks fornew plugsnew tilt lever (the old one was broken)he's gonna fix the window switch (the passenger side rear would not go down with the drivers controls. curiously enough, it went up)labora new.. tube.. that goes in the engine... i'm not sure what it is.. its that plastic one that goes from the radiator to this black plastic box. you know, that one that sort of looks like a straw.. it's on the left side. by the way, what IS that? K33
Yup, take it elsewhere for warranty service. You get better service and the right things fixed. The better shop gets the $$$ for the warranty work.
Anthrpicdecadnce
i can't. i bought the car at an auto broker. you know how crappy their warrenties are.. oh well, i got the car fixed. it runs real smooth and doesn't misfire at all anymore. they even replaced some parts that were clearly broken from the start, like the tilt and the window control. all with genuine volvo parts. and i'm happy to report that the car is back in my possession. Anthrpicdecadnce
post pics of your carnautic blue AND T5 AND manual?ftw + 1yup. and i love it too. only.. the dark color shows EVERY little fingerprint on my car. but yes. like my sig says, it's nautic blue, it's a t5, and it's a manual. i do wish i had the r though...PS. one complaint about the manual: the clutch is HEAVY. it takes more force than usual to push down, and it works the hell out of your clutch foot. oh well, i'm used to it now. All men refer to their cars as "she" because we know that if it has t its or wheels you're going to have problems out of it!
