T-5Bandit
I could see staggered as in Wheel diameter eventually coming around... however, wheel width? It kinda defeats the purpouse w/ a front wheel drive car. Who knows, in 5 years Jeremy you can say I told ya so.And the purpose of having staggered wheel diameters is what.......there is no purpose either. exexpat
on fwd cars?yes, this question was often posed in about 1991-1994 in VW/Audi/Skoda/Opel/Vauxhall/Ford FWD tuning history. So actually, I will change my previous statement and say 15 years behind. On Volvo this actually makes the most sense since the rears are spaced so far in from the factory compared to the fronts that it doesn't even look good without additional 10-15mm rear spacing to even it out. Volvo Virgin
PFFT!Been there....done that.I ran 70 series tires on 15x6" rims up front and 50 series tires on a 15x10" rims on my '73 SS Nova back in 1979....course it was rear wheel drive :P
freeskier8585
Having wider tires on the back of an fwd car is pointless, it is also pointless to space them out if you plan on tracking the car. The reason Volvo has the rear tires set in like they do is to reduce the insane under steer the car produces in turns, widening them out only exacerbates that problem. My car will never see the track, and I have yet to push it to the point of under steer, but I accept what your saying from a performance standpoint.Gary

Sadude
Yah i think i noticed the same thing on 850 Turbo...once i put on my titans I put 15mm spacers on the rear and it looked so much better...don't know if it drove worse but hey she was lowered and had the OMP up front...so I know I had some decent control on itwhere are the pics of the 19s...... maiku
if it staggered my rears anymore, i'd have to do some massive fender mods
diats
You can fit 19's on an 850, even those Ebay ones, Rides Like Hell, if you don't have good roads. Get Good tires!!!. The wheels were just kicking around my brothers garage, and happened to fit, so we tried them. Get a non staggered set, it doesn't look nearly as good, but handles much better. Throwing 19's would / will require some effort/ body work expended on the front fenders, AKA: rolling, flaring ( Most hot rod shops can do this, most regular body shops can't, find one!) Rears had a sharpie marker clearance @ everything, except fender liner, got chewwwed w/ some weight in the rear( almost tucked like BMW proper) Please, Please don't attempt 19's without dropping the car, look at Weitec, Koni/H&R, or KW kits. Just for reference; The wheels on the red 850 are HP Evo 19x8.5 + 38mm, & 19x11 + 35 mm. 225/35's up front, 255/35 rear(STRETCHED). Suspension fitted to the car ; Weitec Cup kit, IPD Sways, New susp bushes all @, and more. To tell the truth the pics of the wag, it was still semi supported by the jack(STUPID!) But, If you like these, wait and see what I have coming on Sept/Oct, Pics By Monday, Potential Goup Buy!!! AND NO ONE WILL HAVE THEM!!! I would suggest a 235/35.
