Volvoboi24
My car is in need of a new clutch, and I was wondering do I need to machine the flywheel? the shop i usually take my volvo to is asking if i want to have it done, and Im not sure if its really nessecary... what are the benefits of machining it?Also, does 600 for labor (w/o machining the flywheel) sound about right? I have also heard about people putting in the 850R? clutch on their M56H transmission. Anyone know the part number for the clutch kit? Thanks in advance. Spoony
Just out of curiosity, how many miiles were on it before it went?
64pvolvo1800
Just out of curiosity, how many miiles were on it before it went?I had 50k on my T5 before the first clutch slipped and I just did the 98NA with 85,000. Always recommend changing the throwout bearing too. No use having to go back in again for an extra $100 or so.

BlackT5
You might consider switching to the singlemass flywheel and then use the 850R clutch kit. You might experience some chatter at idle. Search for flywheel, there's tons of info on this.
