tallahasseegreys
So yeah, I had just started the car at a friend's house. I drove about 1/2 mile and noticed the dreaded up arrow was on when I was stopped at a light. I made sure I was in D and not 3. When the light turned green, I stepped on the gas and noticed that the acceleration was poor. I got her up to about 45 and drove to the next light about 2 miles away. Everything seemed ok during that 2 miles. When I got to the light, I turned the car off for about 10 seconds and restarted. UP arrow never came on, and the car accelerated normally after that. This was 2 days ago, and I haven't seen the arrow since.Should I be worried??? Was this just a random thing???I checked the tran fluid after driving home yesterday. Parked it in the garage, went thru all the gears, let her run for a minute or so and then checked the fluid level. It is a tad bit over the max line. Should I drain some out to get it back to within the HOT level? Could this have contributed to the UP arrow appearance??Thanks!

MikeG
Did the 94 models have a winter/wet mode button?
tallahasseegreys
No I did not check tranny codes cause the check engine light didn't come on. Could there be codes anyway??Yes, there is a winter button, and it was not on.
MikeG
Are you sure the winter button was not on? I've inadvertantly tapped the button before and didn't notice until I saw the arrow light. The button (and the arrow light) will reset to normal position (off) after the car is turned off, so it sure sounds like that's what happened. Next time it happens, try to push the selector buttons and see if you can turn off the light... you might just have a faulty selector switch or - even simpler - the contacts might need to be cleaned.Oh, and just because the button's light was not illuminated does not mean it was not pressed...
