Owned
Trying to remove the endlinks of a '95 850.As I reach behind the joint, just before the rubber boot, my grips/pliers simply grind away at whatever is turning as I turn the 15mm nut. I've sprayed quite a bit of PB to aid the nut off of the bolt, but it hasn't moved in about 2 hours of trying. Looking for any kind of removal tip, short of cutting the stupid thing off.
Patrickw
did u try to use a wrench before u tried vise grips and pliers? i know when i did mine i had a wrench that fit so i could use an impact wrench on the back nut.
Owned
I tried a wrench but it felt as though I was grabbing the too much of the rubber. This is what I get for trying to do anything at home, away from all my nice tools. I'll keep after it with the wrench, I guess. :)
Kashif
This can be as easy as pie, if you put a 14-17mm wrench instead of plyers. I don't remember the exact size but they are within that range. Begin by turning the blot a little bit and try to stick in the wrench, one of those sizes should fit. Once you feel it catch it should go right in and then you remove the bolt.Try not to catch the rubber, don't rip it! Pull the wrench as far towards you as possible (laterally). This is what I am talking about. See that flat part that a wrench should catch.

Evil E
Use an impact wrench if you have air.
BeachRat
I used a TorX bit in the center of the threaded portion. If you bought the Scan-Tech ones, it's a size of TorX that doens't exist, so a T27 will only work once or twice before stripping it out. T30 doesn't fit! RussB
Factory end links have a T-30 in the stud...I have broken a T-30 Torx wrench trying to remove rusted endlinks!Aftermarket (read, shitty) endlinks have a 16mm flat on the backside. At least they're easier to remove, but they need to be, because those endlinks fail so often.
