sion
Dear VolvophilesMy '95 T-5 wagon has what seems to be a failing ABS/TRACS module, although I'm told this is very rare in pre '96 cars. The symptoms are intermittent & usually happen soon after starting the engine when it's warm. First, the ABS light comes on, but the TRACS light normally comes on after the ABS light has come on. They don't come on simultaneously. Each time this occurs, it takes out the dash lights, indicators & headlights. The remedy is a complete shutdown on roadside followed by a restart which clears the problem everytime.Any ideas guys? Many thanks in advance. A pimp named Slickback
It is the electrical portion of the ignition switch. It happens only when you first start the car, and I'm willing to bet next time it happens, if you wiggle the key, all the lights will come on, and everything will be fine. sion
XXXX eh? I haven't had that Queensland brew for a long time, probably since I was last in Queensland! As a discerning southerner, I just love a 'Southwark Premium'!

sion
VB, or 'Vitamin B' as Victorians refer to it, is exactly that - crap.I must admit those Victorians do brew something much better called 'Crown Lager', although some in the know think its Fosters Lager with a brewer's tweak Thanks plenty for the info guys - the one regarding the ignition switch makes a lot of sense. It does indeed always happen soon after starting the engine & the switch does feel a little dicky (no pun intended)

sion
So a new ignition switch is in order? I must admit it feels wrong, possibly the return spring has broken in there too, because it feels bad between accessories & ignition on positions. Thanks again! A pimp named Slickback
might need to replace the ignition lock assy also then...You can actually test that once you have the electrical portion out. If the key turns freely, then it's fine.
