Should I wait or just put in a stock transmission for now and do the level ten build later on? Summer will be over before I get my transmission back if I wait. He has one across town and my mechanic can have it in within a half a day. Or I have another one I can get across the country and have it built and have it in within a month. It is obviously going to be a nicer trans if I have it built but darnit I want to drive my baby!!! Should I wait for level ten until I do a motor build? My transmission was blown up beyond recognition from the inside out. No way of knowing the extent of the damage until it got taken apart, after a week waiting to ship x country. Über855R Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Share Posted July 28, 2006 I still haven't spoken to Shawn about a price, anybody got a number I should offer for his trans? This is what I am thinking. If I buy Shawns and put it in, I can drive right away. Then I can wait and look around for a 5 speed v70R trans and have that built by level ten at my convenience. Have a better set of gear ratios most likely with the 5 speed, and have the full rebuild done should help immensly. Has anyone done that swap on the board that I can talk to? Which years and models have the 5 speed and are they only AWD and I have to convert, or is there a FWD model that had this trans also? I am pretty sure I am going to go for the right now approach because damnit I miss my car!
