Noahkk19
Help me understand this...A while ago my 3rd cylinder started misfiring, ended up having no compression. Now it's in the shop getting a valve job. The dealer says there were lots of carbon deposits around the engine head. At the same time I talked to the guy who previously worked on my car and he said he thinks that there is a oil leak comming from a brittle flame trap. My question to you guys is, wouldn't this obvious oil leak I have cause carbon deposits? Or does it really not matter? One of the mechanics said he just got a valve job done on his car, and he also had to constantly put oil in his car due to a leak, but he sounds convinced that that's not the problem. I'm not an expert like him so I wouldn't know. Help me understand how getting a valve job is gonna stop the same thing from happening if these guys don't listen to my plea to stop the oil leak as well...
