Modus
hey gang, 98' S70 GLTWell this weekend i knowticed that my radiator, intercooler, and oil cooler pack is drooping from one side to the other. Figured i'll mess around with the top of the housing where the fan relay is. Disconnected it all including a little module with 2 vacuum hoses leading to it. Found out than my raidator bracket is broken loose or other words not existant on the pasenger side When i put it back together to call it day i forgot to connect that vacuum module with the adjustment knob and now i have a check engine light essentailly now i have to clear a code. but what is the operation of that component ( it has a purple and tan vacuum tubes to it)cheers modus
scott3308
The module that you are describing might be the idle air control valve. On my 1999 V70 R, it is located on the driver's side of the fan housing, towrad the top. It makes a ticking sound when the car is ideling.

Guest Guest_Phaedrus
If its the same as a '95 850 there are two bolts that go through two plastic tab/ears (one on each side) that come up from the bottom and go through a flange/mounting nut. Almost as if the radiator hangs from the car. The intercooler, evaporator and fan all mount to the radiator. You should be able to see the tops of the bolts and possibly a broken plastic mounting tab for the radiator right from the engine compartment. You may have to remove the bottome cover inorder to expose the bolts from the bottom. If your ears are all that's broken you may try to apply some JB weld and then jack it up to take off the load overnight as it cures in place. It might not work, but its worth a shot... Bay13
I think the thing you disconnected was the controler for the air pump. You more than likely have ECM 448, 442 for the air pump system. Hook everything back up and in time the CEL will clear.
550
The IAC is under the TB cover (vac tree houseing too) in my 98 s70 GLT. Just thining that would be close to the same in the v70
Modus
Thanks guys...yes i indeed connected everything back up, but no go on the light going out, hence black electrical tape works good on the dash  i'll have to check out the ears on the radaitor, i'm sure one is proberly shot i'll give the JB weld a shot. better than buing a new one. Cheers.Modus

Worse comes to worse take it to autozone and have them clear it No worries.
