boostjunkie
To you guys that are having/had tranny problems, are you changing the fluid on a regular basis?I have 167,xxx miles on my car,no tranny cooler, beat the shit out of it everyday and I have yet to have a problem with my tranny... although I wish the damn thing would fail so I have a legit excuse to do the manual swap! crazykn
Not so fun, when you have crazy stop and go (hilly) situations like here in SF .I installed a oversized tranny cooler on my old car, which was known to have serious overheating problems... Über855R
I am SICK and tired of hearing about people with transmission problems.Yeah seriously, stupid transmission complaints. You never ever hear anybody on these boards with a transmission cooler talking about having transmission problemsNever? Maybe just once. God I want my tranni back, NOW!!! Now, NOW now NOWWWWW!!! BeachRat
PLEASE tell me that's not a White Owl cigar...They all already have a tranny cooler integrated with the radiator, but a larger external one might be something to consider! I've put 100k-ish on my own car which has, for 12 years, been driving through extreme heat conditions. Only problems so far have been worn, dried-out axle seals. crazykn
There are two ways to hook up a tranny cooler... either in series with the stock cooler, which is easier or a full bypass configuration... the tranny lines go direct to the external tranny cooler. Disadvantages:Series - depending on temperature, the stock cooler might actually heat back up the fluid that the external cooler helped cool... Bypass - Overcooling on colder temperatures... the fluid will not be up to temp as fast as needed, thus harder shifts, etc.
