fromtheshadows
1. 21 speed diamond back Mountain bike2. 80cc engine kit. Don't worry those rims and tires are not the usual setup I ride on, I have some dope street slicks, but my original plan was to get a video of me doing a burnout with this mountain bike tire...cameras card didn't have enough memory...maybe another day.Logged over 60 miles on this hog and I only use the engine when I feel the need. I've been pulled over twice by smokey even though I killed the engine before they saw me. After a chat with both cops they set me free with a verbal thumbs up(told em it was 49cc motor). Jesus
Time for disc brakes How fast does it go?Take it off any sweet jumps?
Serge
HAHA! That's awesome... any more pics?
fromtheshadows
It'll do about 35-40mph on flat land..no joke. No sweet jumps, no pegs, no shocks. A disc brake setup would be about 190 dolares. A bit rich for my blood considering the bike only cost me 300 to build and the stock brakes on the diamond back are great.Dats about it for now. Jesus
Sounds like one hell of a ride. See you even have staggered tire sizes to help lay down some traction.Let's see some video of it in action.
fromtheshadows
Nah, the staggered size isn't my usual setup. I usually run the same size (fat) road tires on both ends, the power would only break traction back when I had the kit mounted on a 1986 Bianchi (a sin to the purist) with thin street tires. Thats the bike I broke the engine "in" on and on corners it was scary when on throttle. Otherwise the fat road tires hold the power well, I'm throwing them back on tom. to ride to work. I'll take pics then and maybe try to clear my camera for a video.
maximase86
I should post the popular mechanics article from last month that tried making the formula for a 100+ mpg car.S
fromtheshadows
Actually I run anyhere from 60-200 mpg depending on how much I pedal post it man, I's like to know, is it a diesel hybrid with hub electric motors or somethin?
Spizzy
I saw a guy who converted his Prius to a chargeable lithium ion battery, when it was charged it would get well over 100 mpg, when the charge ran out it drove like a normal Prius. I think he's in business selling the conversion, but charging more than 10k for it :o
rodrigo
if you just pedaled you would have an infinate mpg rating.

kenhoeve
A bit rich for my blood considering the bike only cost me 300 to build and the stock brakes on the diamond back are great.uh, no, no they'll really not. in fact, they couldn't be worse. in the photo the front brake wouldn't even work, which is probably just as good as if it did. Texas850Turbo
uh, no, no they'll really not. in fact, they couldn't be worse. in the photo the front brake wouldn't even work, which is probably just as good as if it did.The fronts probably work when he puts his usual rims back on there.....I'm sure they get the job done. fromtheshadows
yeah thats right. They're cantilever style or whatever, and they're pretty good with the right pads, as for "couldn't be worse" , I think not stopping me would be worse, which these do fine. Ken is correct that that rim will not fly for front braking. Thought I explained that those weren't the rims or tires on the bike right now. (goes downstairs with camera)Is that better? I shoulda taken a pic of the motor on the bianchi...I bet Ken woulda had something else to say about that ;)
