Über855R
Look what I got last night! Polished valve cover, polished intake manifold, polished fuel rail/cover, bored throttle body, and a couple other things I haven't pictured.Oh yeah, NA cams also. Plus I hung out with scott for a while, got cought up on the progress with project 6. That 850 is going to be sooo sick! Mine isn't turning out too bad either. Yes that was me who jumped on the TB and intake mani the other day. Good score, finally sitting around checking volvospeed over and over paid off. :D

Gioseppe
shineyyyyy.i like.where did you get the cam cover? junkyard? i wouldn't reccommend swapping cam covers... bad things happen to the journals. but if you got the head to go with it then score! do it! Just hang onto it and install later with a new motor/head. I thought I could throw in the na cams and do it at the same time. People have problems removing the valve covers? MOre info please? Ivanfbi
valve covers and heads are built to match each other, that's why all of them are unique, thus making it really hard to swap.
PullMyFinger
The upper and lower cam halves are machined together as a matched set.It might fit, might not. Might leak, might not. Might bind and crack, might not.
Mesoam
i'de say absolutely forget the valve cover (cam cover, whatever just don't call it a spark plug cover)i say while its off send the manifold out for jet hot coating (only about $150)
CRK
Well if your going to be swapping intake, cam cover, n/a cams, and soforth...... Pull the head and have a machine shop match the two. It can't be that much more work ( to remove the head) can it?
BeachRat
I would agree with those suggesting either a machinist matching your valve cover to the head, or polishing your own. I can't say I knew that before reading this, but I can tell you how messed up your cams will be if those bearing journals aren't aligned well.
Über855R
Well I think I am going to put the manifold on and the TB. I will save the valve cover and cams for a later date. Motor build is coming, start collecing parts for a greater future for my volvo.
