trance42
So i had a short in my wiring harness which caused a fire. Need a new harness. New harness costs 1700 from volvo. Labor fee is like 900 at the volvo shop (A VOLVO STORE).I want the shop to do the work to be sure my car will not catch on fire. The shop sais it can do an engine swap for less.WHAT SHOULD I DO

trance42
I dont have the cash to get the shop to fix the problem. So i guess its another do it myselfer. Or i could sell the vms, m56h, turbo, and all the other parts and be done with it.From what it looked like when i did the motor swap the wiring harness shouldnt be to hard to replace. It just clips in every where. And from what i understand it is pretty easy to detach from where it conects in to the ecu box.I dont understand why this would take the independant volvo shop 900 bucks in labor to do.How big of a difference is there in a manual harness and a auto harness. Is IT JUST +AND- the auto tranny wires?
