I got a spring compressor from Advanced Auto Parts that ones that go inside the spring. This is the exact spring compressor that i got Click Here How do you use this correctly?? TorqueSteer Posted August 5, 2006 Report Share Posted August 5, 2006 You just latch it on to the spring and tighten the bolt at the top until it compresses, it could take a long time without an impact gun, I did mine with an electrical one, just remember one thing with compressing springs, making a mistake can be deadly! GShyneDM Posted August 5, 2006 Report Share Posted August 5, 2006 you got the wrong compressorwhen you get the ones that go on the OUTside, you have to make sure you work both sides equally. do a little at a time, otherwise one side will compress more than the other causing you to not be able to get back to the other side.Air ratchet = Speedhand wrench will take FOREVER!!! You leave them a deposit of about the value of the tool and you get it back when you return the tool in good condition.If you got the wrong spring compressor, maybe you should have someone helping you who may have done this job before?
