I want to see if Porsche will make a Cayman Turbo. That will be a sick car. Cayman > Boxster. The Cayman is the car they really had to keep from outperforming the 911.

The cayman is a hard top boxster. :monkey:

Darn funny posts!

I firmly believe that cars have feelings too. You treat them kindly, they treat you kindly. :)

Same Here :D i still say the day of the York PA meet my car ran better than ever even my wife said it felt like it was running better

Wow, what a stuff fight this turned out to be. A kid comments that a Porsche Boxster feels way nicer than his Volvo, and people go apeshit.

I, personally, would prefer to never own a Boxster, simply because I associate them as a "hairdresser's car." That's not to say I don't have respect for the amazing engineering behind that steering wheel. They're a little underpowered for the price (the very reason my dad bought an M roadster instead) but still a nice car.

I was just voicing my opinion, who gives a fuck if we are talking about a Porsche Boxter or a Suzuki Swift, everybody is entitled to their own opinion on how the car ranks in their mind. My opinion doesn't mean Boxters don't perform well, my opinion on ANYTHING should never be taken seriously, EVER! I thought that was in the rules somewhere around here...?

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

It's been a week since I've been driving the 540 and it puts a smile on my face when every time I press on that pedal! It's definately not a car for kids :P But my volvo (modified) handles better, stiffer, more precise.... and the 540 has the factory sport suspension not stock. So I'm glad you got to drive and had fun with the porsche!

I somewhat agree with Carson about the lower end vehicles... " people just buy them to say "I drive a Porsche/BMW"" Not in all cases but some, yes. It truly does give the driver of a BMW let's say a different status. And in the society that we live in today, it seems important to many.

I read an article somewhere about the reasons behind why high end luxury or sport car companies came out with lower end series. Basically the answer was to compete against all the rest of the "shitty cars out there", and by paying 5 grand more you just got yourself a bumper sticker that says, "I'm rich" :o

I drove a boxster S once, wasn't very impressed. I'd take my dad's old M3 conv over it any day.

Not all porsche drivers buy the car for the image, I know someone with a 914 they swapped a new(er) 911 engine into... fassst and uglyyyy.

As for "low end" cars from luxury makes being ego boosters... not so. You get stuff with a 530 you wont get in a CTS or something cheaper like that. I've driven many, many, many cars and there are things you can't put into words about why a nice luxury car is better. Theres just things you don't understand, then you drive it and say "ohhh I get it."

On another note, my brother has a 98 528i sport and I would be willing to put money that it would outhandle my R on the skidpad if he didn't have crappy tires on it. I used to beat on that thing and its a very balanced car.

My girlfriend used to think BMW's were just snobby money symbols till she drove that car; after only a couple miles she said "great thanks, now I'm never going to be happy with my car unless I can afford a bmw 20 years from now." Just cause the car doesn't show dominance in performance doesn't mean there aren't things about it worthy of a luxury carmakers badge... unless its a pre-2002 benz, then they just suck

I think you guys are all missing the point.

The title of this forum is "I Now Hate My Car". It doesn't say "I Now Hate Low End Luxury Sports Cars".

In the end, S70Turbo1999 should apologize to his car for saying he hates it. He might hurt it's feelings. It may even be....duh duh duh.....suicidal! :(:(:o :o

Your right. I seemed to have been following the flow. I love my car... it's a S70 1999 'NON-TURBO'. So yes you should apologize!
