sion
Ok, while I'm on a roll today...I need to remove the fuel flap to take to the painter for an accurate paint match to my bumper/spoiler, but do you think it isn't a pain to remove!? It would be so much easier to take the car I know, but it's off the road in many pieces. It all looks logical enough, remove the two torx head screws, some rag between the flap & the body to prevent paint chaffing, but the plastic hinge tucks around the inner lip on the fuel flap providing for some real patience testing. I removed the spring to no avail. There must be another way.Does anyone have the answer? Thanks!
MadeInJapan
You're not going to want to hear this but you punch out the 4 rivets that hold the hinge and door into the area it's attached to with a punch. The only way it appears that the door comes off in one piece. Then when you reinstall the door, you use 4 new rivets flush with the hinge.... This is straight from the official Volvo software that no one likes for me to mention on this forum.
sion
Aha, it all makes sense now. I didn't expect it to be too straightforward, so no surprises Made in Japan! Thanks for the 'inside' info. Shane
