I Am A Newb.

So... I came for the information on burnt out ABS modules, but I'm staying for the witty repartee.

A little background: I guess I am part of a Volvo family. My household consists of a '98 V70XC and '03 XC90 T6, while other family members include two '00 V70XCs and a '96 850 wagon. Photos of my cars to come, but we're working on a family photo... we can have a decent sized "meet" at any time!

'scoober' was derived from my previous ownership of a Subaru and also playing a lot of ultimate frisbee. Now that I've moved on to Volvos and destroyed my knee, I still couldn't let it go, it's been my alias for quite a while now.

I definitely utilize the cars more for their utility aspect, trucking around bikes and skis in foul weather, but I have always had a penchant for performance. I feel the XCs don't really scream "tune me" based on their suspension set up, so plans for the '98 will be held to a stage zero overhaul, dual exhaust, and ecu tune. (Anyone ever shoehorn an audi allroad air suspension onto a v70 chassis?)

I've got to get this ABS module fixed first though.

Speaking of... does anyone know typically how long it takes Mr. Rocha to get back to you after your first email? I have my module sitting on my workbench ready to go on a trip!

XC's scream 'tune me"! louder than any other volvos

I dont think you are only limited to stage 0, dual exhaust, and a ECU tune. You can install a bigger turbo (16T) and a downpipe LIKE THIS, and higher flow injectors, maybe an aquamist. Then you can get a ECU tune appropriated for the bigger turbo, and install some stiffer suspension. Will it be as quick and agile as a Subaru...i have no idea, but it will be more fun than stock.
