Ongoing Problem...

Thats kinda what I thought to begin with, yes they may need replaced. But also as suggested it could possibly be in the tires as well. Have you tried a front to back rotate? I'm not really understanding why they can't nail the problem if it's that bad?

I have no clue why they can't nail the problem! The problem can't be found when the car is lifted in neutral (which most garages seem to do), the wheels must be locked. And there is definent play, you see the boot of the rack pulling in and out. When you drive slow or fast on smooth roads everything seems normal. Even as you zig zag (like warming up your tires) everything seems very responsive. It's when I hit a bump/seperator/crack..., braking on uneven roads or even accelerting the sterring just takes over, it feels like I'm fighting with my steering to keep it straight!

I have an appointment at CAA (Canadian Automobile Association), they will inspect my car and hopefull find the problem. Supposely they have a machine to test the suspension. I will have them look at my rack and my strut mounts to see if they need to be replaced.

Thanks for the help MrWinkey and the rest of you. I will let you guys know what happens.

Wow...that's horrible Mikie. Everything seems loose in there.

Tell me about it! Control Arms are brand new, end links are brand new, rack was replaced 16 months ago. Tie rods were replaced same time as suspension about 2 years ago, that includes strut mounts and spring seats.

But the mechanics are saying that EVERYTHING IS TIGHT. B)
