DeLupo
Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a service/repair manual, paper or CD, for my 2000 Volvo S70. I have looked since I purchased the vehicle new six years ago, and the only manual I can find is at Volvo, which is a complete set for 4 grand. I need to replace my timing belt, water pump and both tensioner and idler pulleys. Bay 13 shows a 850 timing belt replacement which looks close to my setup, but does not discuss the water pump and mechanical tensioner pulley adjustment. I plan on replacing both the pulleys and waterpump, I like to do it right the first time, and I am not sure how to set the tension and the water pump is difficult to see. I am a little hesitant to attempt without some instruction or diagrams. Thanks

3p141592654
Unofficially, you can sometimes find the older VADIS DVDs for sale on Ebay. Then you need to use your search engine to find a valid sysadm passwd, and also instructions to fix the date codes, which will have all expired. If your not a computer geek, it may all be too much hassle. Other than that, you can buy a subscription service from Volvo for a few days, but the cost of that is also pretty high, but not as bad as $4k! There are some Hanes manuals around too, but they tend to be the European models (i.e. there is a V70 Hanes manual). They are not usually as good as the VADIS instructions though. Jarhead
It is really pretty straight forward and simply once you get in to it. Bay 13's directions are great with minor variations for the mech tensioner. Here is a link for the Mech tension instructions.http://www.volvospeed.com/Repair/ManualTensioner.phpI just completed all you are doing on a 99 V70 GLT and had an easy time with the help from the forum. Get in and do it and help will be there if you need it.
