Phil94850
the car has 200k on it and it runs great but i always wondered about the boost press. my factory gauge would barely go into the white. I installed the MBC in the pic below and turned it up. I installed a boost gauge and after turning it quite a bit im still only showing about 8-10 pounds of boost and a spike to 12 at times. At idle the gauge is showing about 19 inches of vac and while driving after letting off the gas it goes to about 21 inches of vac. I dont think i have a problem with the vac/boost hose otherwise i would show low vac also. Please take a look at the pics and let me know if ive hooked up something wrong. i tried switching the hoses around on the MBC and it was worst so im sure how i have it now is correct. I plugged the hose coming from the plastic intake and plugged the hose from the intake manifold. any help would be appreciated .... by the way.. the car is completely stock other than the MBC. James100
Yikes. Looks like you will need new silicone vacuum hoses also Phil. What is your gauge in the dash doing now also Phil? When mine in the dash was only moving a little it was because I had some small holes in the line from the tree to the turbo gauge. Near the tree.If your gauge in your dash is not working right now you might have a leak in that line and since you are connected into it with both gauges they will both read low. James100
Vacuum tree. There is a black plastic cover over it use a 8mm wrench. This is an old pic when I first got the car. The elbows go bad and need to get replaced. Also those clamps in yellow can loosen.

Maybe 1/4" either way. But there was movement.

James100
you said yours had holes and that caused your gauge to read incorrectly ??yes the gauge in the dash but I fixed everything. Somehow there was about 3 or 4 little holes in the vac line coming off the tree that runs to the turbo gauge in my dash. I spliced in about 3 feet coming from the tree and everything is working. Phil94850
heres a pic of my vac. tree. it looks like everything is tight. do u suggest replacing anyways ??hey... i noticed on the left of your vac tree there is a hose coming off it heading back to the eng. compartment. my vac tree its capped off. that vac hose with the yellow stripe was connected to my intake manifold. its capped off at the intake manifold now and i use that hose on my MBC james the hose you replaced for your boost gauge did it have a little rubber then a long plastic hose from the front of the car to the dash then back to rubber up to the factory gauge ?
