Phil94850
i purchased a a/f gauge. my understanding is you just tap into one of your o2 sensor wires is that correct ???
WhiteT5
No. Did you buy a narrowband? If so, throw it away or sell it to a ricer on the street.
Phil94850
umm white .. whats a narrow band ?? plz dont say throw away. LOL. heres the one i bought. what kind do you have to have for our cars ??
WhiteT5
Yeah, that's a narrowband. The only thing it's good for is telling if you're rich/lean at idle from something like a vac leak. However, a vacuum leak would be much more easily determined from a boost gauge. Sooo, go try and sell that gauge to a ricer. Tell them it adds 5 hp or something. What you really want is a wideband o2 sensor/gauge. AEM, Innovate, PLX are good brands. I have an AEM one I got for 250 from Joseph.EDIT: And to clarify on the install of any exhaust A/F gauge.... you have to have an extra bung welded into your downpipe to screw the sensor in to.See pic:
Texas850Turbo
Yeah, you want something with a digital readout so you know the exact readings coming from the sensor- i.e. 11.5 or 12.0....Good wideband AFR gauges and sensors cost quite a bit, but as a tuning tool, they're worth every penny. You're also going to need another flange in your downpipe to put the wideband sensor in. Search some more(not just VS, use google too) for more in-depth explanations of all these concepts and what other people have done with them. It's a fun light show to watch, and you can tell less knowledgeable people that its delivering important information to you while you work out what you really want to put in that second gauge hole. You can run it for the lightshow like Eric said and just swap it all out for a wideband once you pick one up.

An oil pressure gauge would probably serve you well in that second spot.

Trunks850R
make sure your oil pressure gauge is electronic, not mechanical. then follow instructions included
