MadeInJapan
REAL A/F guage is probably a better choice than oil tempSo, what do you think of this one...is it a piece of sh1t? http://www.ipdusa.com/ProductsCat.aspx?Cat...&RootID=
EricF
A "real" air/fuel gauge will be listed as a wideband air/fuel gauge or controller, and requires use of another O2 sensor (usually have option of buying the sensor with the controller). These will be in the 150-450 range in cost.On a stock car, or even a chipped car with stock turbo, I would rather have oil pressure or oil temperature than a wideband. If so where are places to get that adapter that will fit correctly?

EricF
Just make sure it doesn't place the oil filter far down enough to hit a speed bump or something... On our cars we have cool/weird oil filter placement. Breaking the filter on a speed bump is a quick way to need a new engine.
Trunks850R
i bought my autometer ultra light electronic oil pressure gauge, and the guys at "Trans Tech" in oak ridge (see the back of EVERY rolling magazine) installed it for me and never asked for a adapter or anything. works great too. oh and i must say this, a narrow band A/F gauge is better than a NO BAND gauge................ The other way to connect the oil pressure gauge is where the stock sensor goes into the block I believe. When I looked at it, it looks like it might be tough to get at on my car. There was some lines blocking access to it. Thats why I asked about that adapter at the oil filter.
James100
I think this here might possibly work for an oil pressure gauge. Its called a sandwich adapter. Sandwich Adapter. Another OneI found a post where Slater said he was going to try to use a sandwich adapter on an 850. Here. Its kind of interesting.
NW T5R
Innovate wide band, runs around 400. My stock downpipe has and extra bung with a plug about 180 from the O2 sensor.
WhiteT5
So can anyone verify that 3/4 16 is the correct size? I would hope that those things would come with plugs so you can cover the ports not in use.

WhiteT5
plugs are easy to get Sean. Yah, I'm sure they are, but one less trip to the hardware store is a good thing . I think I'm gonna try this out for oil temp and pressure.

I sent him some emails yesterday with alot of info and he says he wants to make one for a Volvo 850 but that one in the pic might fit. I told him it might be a good idea to go over to a Volvo Indy shop to see if he can look at an oil filter and the way it goes on the car.
WhiteT5
K, I'm gonna crawl under there later and see if there's room to run everything that needs to be run and decide how to go about things.
