Sadude
$120 is what I paid to do it on my car...I wouldn't mind doing it myself but for that price...who cares and lifetime warranty.

Zaitz
Looks good, do the fronts at 20. But for 120 you should have just let the pros do it. stuff mine cost 300 with warranty excluding 2 side windows.
firepuma
They want 220 for my wagon, I've got a precut roll for 40 bucks, I'll have a go at it myself soon. Leaving it to the pro's? Please, I'll leave 160 in my wallet for something I can pull of a year from now if it bubbles. Props for doing it on your own.

SSCustoms
I own a window tint shop in Iowa. I charge $200 for lifetime film on an 850. A wagon would be $250.
Guest Guest
thanks for your opinions.. i agree it would be nice to have the pro's do it but im just hard headed like that. i cant stand to pay someone for something i know i can do myself. plus.... the money savings involved. look at it like this.. i have 60 in this job,( shouldve been alot less ) saved me 60 i can put towards something else for my 850.id never done a timing belt job on a volvo but id be darn if i was gonna pay the local shop 350 to do it. did it myself for under 100.00 bucks . ofcourse.. its great to have a website like this one you can ask questions and get help when needed.

Isn't it stupid we have to justify doing work on our own cars? It must really suck being unskilled and/or lazy and having to pay people to do easy jobs. Zaitz
Thats not the question, its a matter of quality. A professional shop will probably use higher quality film and apply it a lot better with a lifetime warranty. Most people are on here because they like to do there own stuff to their car. But when it comes to something like a window tint that can be scratched off and bubbled, a lifetime warranty can come in handy, especially when its only $120 for the whole car and the warranty.Never the less, you did a good job. I just hope it lasts a while and doesnt bubble up.
RussB
Nice Job, Phil! Most people are on here because they like to do there own stuff to their car. But..."But" nothing! The reason why many of us are here is because we like to work on our cars. At least you got that part right! Why do a whole line-up of assclowns have to say they would rather have a "Pro" do it? Hey, good for y'all. Have your "Pro" tint your cars. No big Whup Us "DIY" guys like to see & hear about this stuff
Zaitz
When did I say I didnt like to hear and see this stuff? I was merely remarking upon the fact that for 60 dollars more he could have have gotten a potentially higher quality tint with a life time warranty. To me thats a better deal. No big Whup Us "DIY" guys like to see & hear about this stuff...and then theres people who think they can do everything ever by themselves.i do everything to my car, i've been a mechanic for 4 years now and my father has been one for over 20 and one thing we both will never do is tint because its a waste of money. sure it may be cheaper now to do it yourself but in another year when you have to do it again cause it fell off, bubbled up, or got scratched then you're up to about as much as you would pay for someone to have done it right in the first place.don't get me wrong i'm all about doing things myself, i'm about as DIY as they come, but i'm also smart enough to know that theres some things that professionals will do a better job with. not to mention it comes with a lifetime warranty.tinting at home is like painting your car with spray cans. it may be cheaper and look fine now but it wont match the quality of a professional job.
