i can understand both sides of the opinions...true.. you get a lifetime warranty, maybe better film, but there is one thing a pro tint shop, repair shop, or anyone else you pay to do work for you cant give you.. thats the personal satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself. True... its a learning expericence and you may mess it up the first time like i did, but the important thing is i learned alot. There is nothing better than someone complimenting me on something i did to my car and a person asks me who did this.. and i say " i did " ... priceless B)

It looks good, i say go for the darks if you think u can get away with it. ive had em on every car ive had for the last 9 years and never even got questioned by cops on it. just dont be stupid to cops if they stop you.

My c70 came with 5% all around, but about 3 years back i had a saab 9-5 and a friends father hooked me up at his shop for 100 flat. thats all 4 regular windows, rear window, and 2 small back windows. this is in nyc also : )

basically.... if you can afford to have the pros do it ... go for it.. nothing better than that. when on a budget ( like myself ) you tend to learn how to DIY LOL.

i guess i feel like this.. if i had for example unlimited money to fix up my ride then sure i could go out and have someone do everything i wanted to it and that would be great and probably look awesome but whats the point in buying a used car ? whats the point going to a meet and saying heres my ride knowing you didnt do a darn thing to it ? youd be the envy of all, but nothing like the guy that busted his arse that did most on his own. kinda like the rich kid and the guy that busted his arse fixing up his ride. i would respect the latter of the two more...

anyways.... as i said earlier.. i truly appreciate everyones opinion. :)

by the way... 95r man i like that yellow .. sweet ride

Finally got me DIY tint job done and it doesnt look to bad. the pros wanted 120.00 i did it for basically 60.00 bucks ive got into it since i screwed up the first time ( wouldve been alot less). I still have to finish the front two windows im trying to decide if i wanna stick with 20% or go 35% which is what the state allows. the the hardest was the back window. i ended up going to autozone and purchasing tint for curved back windows. the tint is in 6"x24' roll and i had to cut 5 strips to cover my back window. the instructions say to overlap the tint but if you do you can see the lines from the outside so i took my time and butted the edges together and you cant hardly see anything looks like one piece. trust me .. if you take your time you can save yourself alot of money...

heres some pics let me know what you guys think....

You saved "a lot of money?" $60? Sorry, but how long did you spend on that job to save $60?

Listen I love the hate...let me give you an example...I understand the time savings you are referring to but sometimes money is money and that's the bottom line

My bro's saab 9-5 turbo blew out and i decided to tackle this $2500 job myself since the turbo on the V6 is integrated into the exhaust manfold and cost $2000 to buy new from the dealer and there is no aftermarket. I took the turbo off myself and sent it out to get rebuilt, had to source another tubro when they couldn't rebuilt it and now for basically under $600 I did the job on my own but it took me nearly a month to complete it (finishing install this weekend) but my brother has a 2nd car so big whoop...tell me that the extra $2K aint worth it

to each their own...why don't we wait to flame him once it does bubble (i really hope it doesn't) for now just reminisce in the great job he did and let's move on to the next cosmetic mod that gets done
