Bobby Brougham
I'm wondering if anyone has done this before, or if someone could point me in the right direction. I have a '98 S90 with the SC 816 head unit installed. I want to install a Neo Car Jukebox through the CD Changer input, but the Neo has RCA plugs and from what I understand, the SC816 has some DIN Input? Is there an adapter that anyone knows of that would go from DIN to RCA? That way I could plug up the jukebox through that input and keep the head unit original. Also, there's some type of plug in the trunk that I believe is a direct hookup to the changer. Does anyone know of an adapter for that?
Veneficus
I think this is what you're looking for. ClickI think someone has done this before (not me), but I think this is what they used to do it. This adapter gives your a L and a R rca jack. You could run a line from the changer port in the back to the front of the car or I believe there should be a connector on the back of the HU. You would just unplug the changer wire from the HU and plug this adaptor into the same place, giving you your RCA lines. Like I said, I believe someone has done this before but thats just my take on it.
drlava
Congrats on your decision to install a jukebox, it'll add a lot of fun and 'oohs' to your trips. I have done a custom jukebox in my car from the ground up, including custom programming an interface to the radio cd-changer port. I sell the aux-in for $53 for the basic unit and have other options such as a dual input model. The install looks stock except for the display on the dash.. And the song and playlist selection are done with the head unit buttons, including ffwd, pause, and next/prev. song. It runs winamp on an old laptop in the trunk with an external USB drive for easy upgradeability. In the future i'll add wireless connection so I can transfer songs and playlists while the car's in the garage. Contact me if you are interested in buying an aux-in adapter (from me)
