JCviggen
He recently got it into Germany, but its still on Mass. plates was pretty funny at the RingThat volvo looks familiar Honestly I find the EVO a very pretty machine to look at. Its slightly less nice to look at from the inside, but boy is it efficient. Florian did 2 laps on the Ring in it with me as ballast (just getting to know the car) and the track wet from the second half on. In the wet it was very, very impressive. In the dry too but slightly less so in completely standard trim. Then again I've only driven with Flo in his 850 and that thing is in a slightly different league still.....both for acceleration and sideways G's. But the EVO feels so lightfooted, it will drive itself as fast as you like you just point it where you want it to go.He was kind enough to let me have a drive in the MR, I had never driven an EVO (or scoobie for that matter) so it was a little hard to get a good impression from it on a short drive, but it feels like a very very easy car to drive bonkers mad fast.Thats probably why it felt a bit slower to me than I had expected (a slight amount faster than my car but not very noticable) the chassis is begging for more horses. Turbo lag is pretty bad as well, but i do like how boost comes on a lot more sudden than on my car. First 2 gears are great fun, the traction is just staggering. The turning circle caught me out though, and that says a lot considering how bad my car is at that I think when Flo upgrades the power and the handling it will be a really evil machine.....and he can keep the interior in it for a change Autobahnnnnnnn (i bet his fuel gauge said "Full" before he got on it)
volflo
thanks. very nice, Jan. :-))by the way. I LOVE youre new sig. that isdera erator is just stunningly beautiful. i saw some pics next to a Frod GT40, and oh boy. IMPOSSIBLE, but its even more beautiful thatn the original itself.( its powered by an AMG 400hp V8 and ways 900kgs. not bad 1968(?) !!!Anyway ECUTek is on its way. 330 hp, and its the same easy system as with PPC.KW V3s are also available. I dont want to imagine how this thing will corner then. But, as Jan alread pointed out, if this is the benchmark for the greenmachine, my 850 rebuilt is some helluva fast car...me happy.9.19 with wuite a few slow downs (3 accidents; jan?) and half of the track was wet. So thats pretty good for the first two rounds on the ring...
JCviggen
You're going to have a lot of fun That Isdera was a lot quicker in a straight line for sure, too bad the driver was such an jerk. The way you were driving on the dry part I think it would have done an ~8:40 easy if it didnt rain and less yellows.I was particularly amazed how well it took schwalbenschwanz, over the concrete it felt a lot more COMFORTABLE than my car while going a lot faster :(
George @ ViVA
Hi Flo,Looks like the car made it back to Germany! Hope you didn't have any problems with logistics. The Evo MR took the twisties of Storrow Drive pretty well, even though it was a bit cooler out and the tires were complaining and squealing You missed a great summer in Boston, lots of nice things to look at here.... volflo
Man Mr Flo! taking a car into germany is costly as heck! man I envy you guys in europe sooo stinky bad...after my son is born I'm going back to my homeland ! that MR is SexC!for me it wasnt at all. With the EUR/USD rate it was some helluva bargain.German EVO9 with Sport package (basically same as US MR model, except fro some nice gimmicks) comes in at 42 500 EUR.I paid: 35000 USD ~ 29 000 EUR plus 1200 shipping, plus 2500 for german registration (incl. the silly reflectors, Jan and the even more stupid fog light) and emissions ceritifcation, connversion of us in to german title....)but NO Tax, NO customs since i drove the car as in the US as a resident.so 32700 EUR is not tooooo bad for a brand new MR that u cant even get in Germany And since its grey everybody thinks its a FQ something....
