rp850
How old is your belt? I'd change that first before I change the tensioner. A lot easier and solved my noise problems.HelloMy serpentine belt tensioner is noisy with the compressor running, and even quite noisy without. What gives? Do I need a new tensioner?Or is it normal? Not normal, in order I'd try (1) new belt then (2) lubricate the tensioner then (3) replace it.The tensioner is super easy to take off (on my 96 850 anyway) for maintenance or replacement, almost as easy as removing the belt. Just two bolts. RussB is right about service, basically it just needs to be lubricated. Look in the service manual that was recently posted here, there are very clear instructions in there. I was able to do it on the 93 as per the picture in the manual but not on my 95?Matt
