PullMyFinger
Personally...I wouldn't expect anything of monetary value from a best/close friend. Thats what relatives are for.I (if it were me getting married) would really appreciate something I'd always remember. Like some kind words at the reception, maybe a toast. Perhaps something centimental that only a best friend would know. Like how he (the guy getting married) felt and reacted when he met this woman of his dreams. Paraphrase his thoughts/words on a nice looking card and frame it. Cost you like $20 and you'll always be welcome at his house for dinner.Unless they are very young and/or very broke...money isn't what they are after. Or at least it shouldn't be. TheCapn
Money, money, money.................... No man should be expected to go to an engagement party unless it's at a cool place. I just got married and 100 is a hell of a gift, no one should be expected to pay more. Breadmakers are shite..... He will end up with enough pots and pans and the like. If you don't like money get him a gift card to a place only he will use it. His wife will end up with more than enough stuff and mounds of gift cards to Pottery Barn..UGGGGHHHHH
