At that point its better to just use the key. Its more of an advantage to have it lock from far away. No one wants to walk back to the car to lock it. silly 850 drivers, i use the central locking switch ON THE DOORPANEL to lock the doors when i park somewhere.. :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Of course the old 850 ones never worked right, even 2 inches from the window (tough luck if it is raining hard out there ) But the new ones are not any better, and they are even worse. They look like a brick and feel like one in your pocket! They wanted to copy the Mercedes style, but that is not a great idea. The range is not as good as GM and VW or Audi and the bottons do not feel good on the touch.For the frustrated crowd, get an after market alarm!! You have to do anything? Heck, mine unlock when I turn the car off. Automatically. Not sure what your issue is. Pfft... pushing buttons is so 1990s.
