SkyWriter
Chip it and have it be a nice highway car, and hope you don't kill the tranny.yeah, done that plus other stuff. this is mostly a thought experiment. other than that cost is not an issue for me, it's reliability, and ease of install. there should be some innovative way to handle the boost cut in. i donno... i never had the money for a roots blower on my old GTO in the day now i have the money, but no GTO BTW the tranny is fine. Zappo
there should be some innovative way to handle the boost cut in. i donno... There is. You use a piggy-back system that only alters the fuel and timing when it detects boost.
SkyWriter
Well i finally got the time to converse with Thomas Knight electric SC's and yes they are expensive (as some people have noticed cost isn't my concern). but not undoable. pictures of the units and installation are very interesting as some of the specs they list. i'll need to do many measurements on the engine to figure out the best plumbing. but the biggest obstacle is the cramped space in the S80 engine compartment. i would hate to have to revert to dual quad/hirisers and root blower hood cut out. sort of deats the purpose the but the project is very doable with work. as for alternators, i would favor use off an offline charging system overnight.btw i tried the rebuilt turbo swap and it didn't workout. i would prefer to stay out of the back of the engine unless i obtained a spare block to do as much full custom as i could.
